FAQ

What kind of camera do you use?
A Canon Rebel XS + kit lens or Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens

Do you edit your photos?
I use Adobe Photoshop to edit all of my pictures. I’m a big fan of the auto tone/auto color buttons and curves à auto for easy, quick editing.

How do you make your blog collages and layouts?
I use Adobe Photoshop for practically all of my original blog content. I typically start with a blank 600 x 900 pixel canvas and go from there!

Do you have any tips for new bloggers?
I’m by no means an expert, and I’m constantly learning, but I’ve picked up a few things here and there after a few years of blogging. You can read more about this via my ongoing "Better Blogger” series.

I’m visiting Athens for the weekend. Where should I thrift/drink/eat?
Athens is a football college town with tons of award-winning restaurants and close to 50 bars. James and I have too many favorites to name, but our top choices for restaurants would include 5&10 (you may know chef Hugh Acheson from Bravo’s “Top Chef”), Last Resort Grill and Mama’s Boy. We love stopping into The Manhattan for a Blenheim's extra spicy gingerale (and free popcorn!) and winding down with a night cap on the rooftop of the Georgia Theatre. Shop vintage at Dynamite and pick up a cute gift for the littles at Treehouse Kid & Craft. Try to see a show at our world-famous 40 Watt Club during your stay, and for a bit of Athens quirkiness, take a stroll through Bear Hollow Zoo at Memorial Park before you leave town.

Hunt for vintage finds at my local Athens favorites: Agora, Community and Junk in the Trunk, where I have a both of my own where I sell a mix of my paper goods and antique finds!

This amazing City Guide of Athens via Design*Sponge really takes the cake if you're visiting -- this wonderfully curated guide can be found here.

I also love this map created by Sweet Peach Designs outlining all the wonderful places in Athens! You can find the PDF and more information here.

Nearby Monroe is our absolute favorite place to treasure hunt (about 25 miles west of Athens and about 45 miles east of Atlanta). Favorites include Old Mill Antiques, Cherry Hill at the Mill, Davis Street Antiques, Ian Henderson’s Antique Mall and The Cotton Depot. Below is a map of all the great places to shop in the area.
