Odds and Ends 9/19/14

Hello and happy Friday! There's been more radio silence lately (bad blogger). Life and work sometimes gets a little hectic around here and my fun hobbies get pushed aside. Like thrifting. And antiquing. And creating just for fun. And blogging.

But here I am, and I have a few exciting updates to share! For one, look at this big ol' bump:

I'm almost to 29 weeks! I've made it to the third trimester. Time is flying by and I can't believe this little guy is swimming around in my belly where I can see him. It's both the strangest and most miraculous thing. I can't believe he'll be here in just a couple of months!

This crowded apartment thing is doing absolutely nothing for my nesting and decor-obsessed self. We've moved a few things aside for the baby so he'll have a small space in our bedroom, and I'll get around to making those spaces cute sooner than later and I'll share them here. They'll do until we move early next year and I can decorate a proper nursery (I can't wait. It will be so fun.)

And speaking of moving...and our house...things are slowly happening around here! We received the first set of plans from the architect last week, and we were thrilled when we drove past our lot to see that it's being graded and the foundation is being set as we speak. We had such a ball building our first house, and the memories are all coming back. It's such a fun process if you enjoy that kind of thing.

Our builder and his team are definitely part of the reason this process was/is enjoyable (this time and the first time). I know this makes a ton of difference when you're building, so I feel lucky we found him and he's so talented/nice/flexible (read: deals with my sometimes crazy requests and never makes me feel crazy at all). I wished I'd written a post about the building process before, so I'm making notes to do that this time around. I'll include details from our experience and a few references/tips if you're interested in building a house in the future.

I'm looking forward to this fall -- it's right around the corner. Next weekend some of my favorites are coming to visit, and apparently they love me enough to cram into our little apartment with us and B for their stay. Soon after that will be a friend's wedding, my baby shower, maternity photos, a craft show or two, Thanksgiving...then it's baby time! It's going to be a wonderful few months. Looking forward to sharing more here and documenting/being a better blogger during it all.

I'll leave you with these cards I made to thank folks this fall. A snow owl seemed appropriate since Archer will be born in December.

I hope you guys have a great weekend. Thanks to those of you who check in from time to time to see what's going on around here. Without y'all it wouldn't be near as fun to share. -- Natty
