House Crush // No. 7

This lovely house tour has made its way around the Web lately, but I first spotted it a couple of months ago on Pinterest via Southern Weddings. The shot of the iron bed frame with the silhouettes over the headboard stopped me in my tracks -- it's such a cozy looking room! It's no secret that I'm a sucker for everything craftsman and that I appreciate a good vintage find or two. I think Erin of Lucky Luxe and I might be soul sisters. We both love paper, we're both artists, and we both love eclectic, nostalgic home decor. Hmm.

I quickly bookmarked these photos for future home inspiration. When I look back over the last 5 years regarding my personal style, it hasn't changed drastically -- but I can say that I feel like I've become a lot more confident with my decorating decisions. Before, I took risks with color. I realize now that I'm happiest with super light hues on the walls, letting the furniture and art do all the talking. In the past, I thought, maybe I like funky accents and brightly colored rugs. Not exactly. I'm most comfortable with neutral carpet or woven rugs, and as far as furniture goes, white and rustic/woodgrain speak loudest to me.

Anyway, long story short -- I've come into my skin a little more, and I can more easily identify my taste. I feel like I've been testing out various styles over the last several years, not quite sure what to put my finger on that's really "me." But now at 30, I feel like I'm pretty close to getting it right. Do any of y'all relate to this?

But I digress...back to this fabulous home tour! There's so much character in each and every corner. I love a house that has a story, and Erin's certainly has a good one.

Some pieces that I've bookmarked on a "wish list" for the new house are below -- I may have already bought that holding hands towel bar (it's on sale!

1. French antique towels via Lucie Tales Vintage // 2. Schoolhouse bathroom fixture via Destination Lighting // 3. Woodpecker Knocker via Anthropologie // 4. French Pastry Slab via Crate and Barrel // 5. Helping Hands Towel Holder via ModCloth // 6. Do Not Disturb Doorknob via Anthropologie // 7. Black Schoolhouse Clock via Rejuvenation

  1. Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about. I feel the same way. I've tried a lot of different styles out. I went through a phase where I thought I could do neutrals and faint hints of blues/taupes/grays but overall, I keep coming back to color. Bold wallpaper. Layers and layers of pattern + color (just look at my recent pins!). It's nice to finally be OK with identifying with a certain style and just owning it!! Cheers to thirty!! :)

    1. Isn't it funny how Pinterest kinda TELLS you what you love decor-wise?? Gotta love it for that. And yes, my friend, you are so talented with layering color and pattern! I guess that's why you have a job designing for a living!
