Happy Friday! What are you guys up to this weekend? Today I'm excited to go to Treehouse for their newest Biz Lunch series -- Paige French is going to be teaching us how to style photos + how to use our iPhone to take the best pictures possible when you're camera isn't within reach. I just finished her two week photography workshop, and I feel like I have a much better understanding of my DSLR and how to shoot in Manual mode. To be honest, shooting on a fixed setting was my comfort zone for a long time, and reading my actual camera instruction booklet has always seemed like such a bore. But you know what? Paige said no one can really teach you how to take advantage of everything your camera has to offer -- you have to read that book after all. So I
begrudgingly did just that last weekend...and I actually learned a few things. The photos in this post were homework assignments for the class -- learning how to adjust the aperture, IOS and shutter speed settings to take the best photos possible manually. The portrait assignment turned out the best, I think :) But I'm impartial to that guy.
This afternoon my parents are coming up to see us and go to dinner, too, which is going to be a lot of fun. We're going to poke around in a few vintage/antique stores around town before dinner, so maybe I'll find a thing or two (I take after them in the treasure-hunting department.) Tomorrow morning I will be a vendor at the Bishop park market (come say hi!) and no doubt I'll have to try and fail at resisting those dang croissants again. First world problems. Sunday I'll be going to my cousin's farm and watching the littles partake in an Easter egg hunt, and I'm really excited to see everyone and give them my Easter jars! It's going to be a full weekend.
Before I go, here are a few things worth sharing from around the Web:
I love Buzzfeed's celebrity throwback pics "you may have missed" -- this week's was a gem.
Ah, my favorite guilty pleasure: The Housewives. This montage made me laugh.
If you've seen any of Aaron Sorkin's work before...this is so spot on. And funny.
Whitney wrote a lovely feature about NMP this week! See it here.
Who liked the "Mad Men" premiere?! I welcomed back Mo Ryan's recaps post-show.
New letterpress map coasters coming soon to the shop! What other cities should I make?
Enjoy the weekend! -- Natty
