Happy Friday! It's starting to feel a little warmer these days, despite this (hopefully) last blast of winter weather, and it has me daydreaming about spring and summer and watermelons. Do you guys remember when watermelons were all the rage in the 90s? I feel like I had a watermelon coin purse, a sundress and a visor. (Oooh, yeah, a visor.) I think they all went together, but my memory is fuzzy. Anyway, I think watermelons are going to make a comeback this summer. I've been on the lookout for a cute straw watermelon clutch -- I saw one on eBay not too long ago, but of course it was all the way across the world in Australia. If you guys see anything, let me know. Because I need a straw watermelon clutch for summer.
I made the above cards recently and printed a bunch for upcoming markets I have going on in April. Watermelons are so fun! The green / pink / red combo with black dots is such a great color scheme. And "thank you kindly" is a play on one of my favorite southern phrases. My grandmother said this all the time, which makes me smile.
I hope you all have a great weekend! I don't know what I'm getting into yet. James is working like a madman lately...I think it's finally safe for me to announce he recently got a new job (!) in Athens, closer to home -- literally 10 minutes away. He will be working as the night-shift pharmacist at a major hospital in the area, 7 nights on, 7 nights off. For those of you who didn't know, he's been working an hour and 15 minutes north of us in a small town called Toccoa. He loves the staff at his old hospital, and it's bittersweet that he's leaving to say the least. But he can't deny that it will be nice to have such a short commute! We have a lot of life changes going on around here lately. All good, really.
Before I leave, a few things worth sharing from around the Web:
My new fave jam by Betty Who.
The best new restaurant in Atlanta that we tried last weekend. Locals, go get you some fancy tacos! Nom.
This Mother's Day card made me snort laugh.
The family tree of dogs.
The ranking of all Roald Dahl books. My all-time fave is "The BFG."
And finally, today is my friend Lindsay's (of Pen & Paint) birthday, and she's giving away all kinds of fun things via her Instagram today, including a $100 gift certificate to my shop! Go follow her to join in the birthday fun. Good luck!
Have a great weekend! -- Natty
