This weekend was a beautiful one in the south, wasn't it? I can't believe it was so frigid just a week ago with snow on the ground. Yesterday was especially nice with temperatures reaching 70 degrees, so the Mister and I moved our living room activities outdoors. He read his blackjack book (he's going to Biloxi this weekend -- cross your fingers for a win!), and I painted. I felt all bohemian and artsy painting on a little bistro table "en plein air..." You know, except that I had my iPhone and iPad out there with me, too. They're never too far away.

The nice weather actually inspired a couple of new cards designs! I've been wanting to paint my owl with a graduation cap -- you know, because he's wise and all. I also painted a make-up illustration, inspired by my friend and neighbor who is a make-up artist -- totally inspired by her! Cosmetics are pretty fun to draw and paint. So many great color schemes and pretty bottles and shapes to choose from. I'll be adding both designs to the shop(s) this week.

Still working on those alpacas on the left. My idea was to make one with just the mom and dad alpacas, and then make another with the baby added. The baby looks like a goat to me, though. And should they have an article of clothing? A bow tie, a flower? Decisions, decisions. Feel free to weigh in with your opinions.

Saturday night we celebrated my childhood friend Becky's engagement to her fiancĂ©, George, and I had the best time seeing old family friends and catching up with everyone. I've known Becky and my other friend, Rachel, since we were practically in diapers! We posed for a fun "then and now" photo, in the same kitchen, at the same table, about 15 years difference:

By coincidence, Becky and Rachel are even wearing the same colors! (Noticeably absent is my hemp necklace from the 90s.) I love these girls.

I hope you guys have an awesome start to your week! I can't believe I'll be on a plane to California for Field Trip in just a few days! I am so flippin' excited...
