This Thanksgiving at our house was cozy and intimate and low-key. I feel like I have Mother Nature to thank for the cozy part. Call me crazy, but I loved that it was freezing cold outside over the holiday (22 degrees was the chilliest Thanksgiving we've had here in over a century!) It felt good to have a fire roaring, curled up on the couch in a big blanket with a hot cup of coffee (maybe with a couple of little acorn cookies, too.) At night our family had a big Scrabble competition in front of the fireplace with SNL's Thanksgiving special playing in the background. It was really nice.

We cooked a pretty traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but the stand-out dish of the meal ended up being the easiest -- this slow-cooker creamed corn recipe was to. die. for. and so darn simple to make. I'll probably whip it up again at Christmas because it was such a hit! Also, Trader Joe's pumpkin cheesecake. So good.

A few of my Thanksgiving favorites:

I hope you all had a cozy Thanksgiving, too!
