Our biplane ride over Atlanta was an awesome once-in-a-lifetime experience -- there's nothing quite like seeing your city from the air...and in open air, at that. We talked two of our friends, Shari and Sean, into coming with us, and the four of us had a great time hanging out at the 57th Fighter Group restaurant before and after our flight. Our pilot was super nice, calming my pre-flight jitters just a bit -- until I learned we wouldn't have parachutes, which was something James had told me he thought we'd have access to. Oh well, I'd come this far, right?
We jumped in the plane, fastened our seat belts,
gritted our teeth and prepared to take off!
So, we made it back to the airport safe and sound. And while I like having my two feet planted firmly on the ground, riding in an open-air plane wasn't at all what I expected -- it was smooth sailing all the way, and I'd definitely do it again!
