First of all, I apologize to y'all who follow this blog in a reader for an old post going live yesterday -- I have no idea how that happened. So, I guess I'll brag on myself again, a year or two after that post originally went live?! Ha. So sorry about that! (To those of you who don't follow this blog in a reader...nevermind :)
This weekend's cookout for both sides of our family was a big success. (Crossing it off the list!) And our friends Shari and Sean were in town too, so they joined right in. We hadn't seen them since their wedding last month, so it was great to see them and catch up. The rain held off, so James and his brothers were able to grill outside, and the kids played corn hole and threw the baseball around in our backyard. We had tomato pie, my sister-in-law's famous broccoli slaw, potato salad, fresh fruit and of course, hot dogs and hamburgers. My mom made banana pudding for dessert -- it is so, so good! The kids enjoyed making their own hot fudge sundaes with the small "make your own" bar I made for them (and the adults had no problem eating the chocolate chips and crushed Oreo pieces that were left over afterwards). I love our families so much! It was a wonderful weekend.
I hope you guys have a great start to your week!
