I'm ending the week a little earlier than usual to go to Atlanta -- one of my best girlfriends, Shari, is tying the knot this weekend! I am really excited for all of the wedding festivities to begin, and even more excited to see all of my friends in one place. Besides the nuptials, seeing old friends is the best part about weddings, you know?
I made a bunch of NMP goods for the happy couple, and I wanted to share some of them with you guys!
Since their wedding is taking place at the Trolley Barn in Inman Park, Atlanta, Shari and Sean had the great idea to make Atlanta neighborhood "signs" instead of traditional table numbers at their reception. I've been collecting frames at thrift stores for weeks of all sizes (usually only $.55 to $.88 cents each!) The smaller frames include a short paragraph about why they love that particular neighborhood, and they will sit next to the matching neighborhood signs at each table. Such a great idea!
My first calligraphy project since my class with Anne Elser are Shari and Sean's wedding fans. They'll be sitting out at the reception in crates, and I think people will use them -- it's supposed to be 90 degrees on Saturday! The menus match the fan floral design:
Shari and Sean are having a Catholic ceremony at their beautiful church in Atlanta, so I drew a pen and ink portrait of the church for the cover.
Arguably the most important thing I've made for this wedding is an Instagram sign! Seriously, what would we do without IG?! I wish it was around when we tied the knot a few years ago.
Last fall, my friend and fellow bridesmaid, Lindsay and I were out shopping with Shari, discussing potential bridesmaid dress colors. Shari wanted us to all wear various colors of coral pink, in line with the ombre trend. We stopped by Hancock Fabrics for a little inspiration and immediately saw a beautiful display of thread, perfect for choosing our colors! Shari picked a shade for every bridesmaid, then mailed them to us so we could find a dress we liked that matched the color. I snapped this photo with my iPhone at the store, and I thought it would be a cute gift to give her when I see her later today.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, friends! See you next week...
