Home Tour: The Guest Room

This is our guest room -- where we love to have friends and family come and stay for holidays, game weekends...and any other excuse to get together throughout the year. The bench and headboard are from The Royal Standard, where my mom works at the Mart. The desk was my grandmother's, and the art deco vanity was a piece I scored last year at a local thrift store. My favorite pieces around the room: the vintage doily stretcher I hung as a piece of art, our RH Scrabble and all of the blue and green books! (I am fully aware that I'm a bit of a book hoarder collector. Guilty as charged!) Some of you may recognize my DIY rock collection shadow box and the special pieces that sit on the vanity from previous blog posts.

We painted the room Behr's "Country Lane" a few months ago, and even though the color wasn't exactly what I had in mind, it brightened up the space considerably, which was what I was going for anyway. I like that the color changes from peach to an almost white shade depending on the time of day and how the sunlight bounces around the room. It's bright, airy and cozy, and for the sake of our guests, I like to think that it's inviting, too!

    1. A lady makes them and sells them in her booth at "Junk in the Trunk" in Athens. If she makes more, I will message you about it!

  5. Stunning! I dream of having a second bedroom. We have my cousin coming to stay with us for 20 days in a month, and we don't have a guest room to put her in!!!! I'm kind of freaking out about that.
