Four Rooms // 07

Lately I've been pinning rooms that have a ton of unique touches that I'm thinking of recreating in my own house. I love the stacked stones in the above bathroom photo -- such a simple, rustic touch that costs practically nothing but makes a big statement. And the chair that's upholstered using a thrifted mink coat -- genius! (Now I'm going to be thinking of possible upholstery options while I'm thrifting for clothes! That's all I needed -- another thing to be thrifting for...)

We're also hunting for a side table for the guest room -- the room I plan on photographing next for my "home tour" series. I love the peacock pop of color of the side table in this bedroom -- what a funky piece of furniture! I also love the staggering of frames on the wall. Unexpected and a little random, but it works. I wish I could see more of the chest in front of the bed. We actually scored a large wooden chest at Junk in the Trunk in Athens last Friday for a bit of a steal. It's still there -- we have to figure out a way to get it home since James drives a Mini and I drive a small four-door. Maybe my next car will be a truck. (Or maybe not -- I imagine if my car was big enough, I would buy a lot more loot when I'm treasure hunting. That could get a little out of control.) Here is our new trunk in all its glory:

It needs a little work, but not too much. There's a couple of spots where someone duct taped their younger sibling inside the lid shut, but I think I can use a little Goo Gone to get it off (that stuff is the best). Maybe we will stain it, too! Who knows. I'll keep you guys updated.

The other two items that are always on my shopping list for our house are large botanical prints and school house maps. In my opinion, they look stellar in any room in the house.

Last but not least, I'm loving the DIY art in the entry way photo by Oh My Deer. Kind of like this large scale quote canvas I made a while ago, but with her rockstar handwriting. Hmm. Maybe I'll get into another one of those soon...

Today's four rooms:

1. Entry by Oh My Deer 2. Kitchen by Alice Gao
3. Bedroom via 4. Bathroom via The New York Times

  1. All of these rooms are amazing...Love them. That nightstand is exactly what I am looking for! I need the world's smallest nightstand i think... ;) The one in the above photo is small yet functional and adorable.

Love the piece of furniture you purchased! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
