Diy: Birdie Headband

Birds are my favorite. Even before this episode of Portlandia was a thing, I've always thought everything really does look better if you put a bird on it. (Right??) I wear a lot of headbands, and the other day, while walking around a crafts store, I saw little birds in a bag on the faux flower aisle...and I thought, why not put a bird on a headband? Sounds like a good idea to me! Here's how you make it:
Supplies List:

(1) Birdies: I bought Hobby Lobby's "Mayberry Street" dollhouse brand of birds, because they are slightly smaller than the ones you'll find in the floral section of the store. Crafts stores have all sorts of birds, butterflies and other random embellishments you could stick on a headband, so get as crazy as you want with this project! (2) A pretty headband: it can be as plain or colorful as you want. I found this one at TJ Maxx. (3) Flower flair: I purchased these "Make a Statement" teal flowers at Hobby Lobby, complete with twist ties AND felt already stitched on the back for easy application! Any flowers, leaves, etc. will do. (4) Hot glue gun: watch those fingers!
I seriously love these birds. I might have to make five more headbands just so I can choose between all the pretty shades of "feathers" whenever I want.
I like the red one.
I think he goes with the teal flower quite nicely!
Place your bird aside, and glue/slide/tie your flower or other embellishment(s) onto one side of the headband.
Easy peasy!
Glue your bird in the flower, and...
You have one serious piece of hair flair.

That little red bird kinda matches the birds on my blouse, doesn't it?

As always, if you make a similar project, leave a link in the comments below, or shoot me an e-mail! I'd love to see what you guys come up with.
