This weekend James and I trekked over to Monroe with my parentals for a little treasure hunting, and we had so much fun. A little tidbit -- my parents like to sift through others' old stuff almost as much as I do (that's my mom and dad in the photos above -- aren't they cute?). The love of vintage must be in the genes. Almost every weekend, they map out the estate sales that are going on in and around Atlanta and use their GPS to go from house to house to see what they can find. I used to go estate hopping with them a lot when I lived downtown, and I miss it sometimes. James and I were glad they took a Saturday off to go to Monroe with us -- it was like old times!

My one big find from the weekend (besides that hilarious streaking page I found out of a 1974 UGA Pandora yearbook -- think Will Ferrell in "Old School": "We're goin' streaking!!") is a vintage table number/menu from a local famous eatery, The Varsity. It was a little pricey at $8, but I had to have it. So many of the menu items don't exist anymore (um, "Glorified Steak," anyone?) and I thought it was too cool to pass up. Now I have to figure out how to display it where both sides can be seen. Hmm...
