Summer Reading List

I love to read -- especially during summer. One of my favorite things to do in life is curl up in a comfy chair (or beach chair), shut off the rest of the world and dive in to a good book. The Kindle has drastically changed how I read...that is, I read way more often because of my Kindle. I was always really bad about visiting my local library, and I never bought books at the bookstore. For some reason, I always find myself veering my steering wheel more toward TJ Maxx and Marshalls instead of Barnes and Noble. It may be unfortunate, but it's the truth.

Well, the Mister and I are gearing up for our summer trip to Isle of Palms, and I've been researching which books to read while we're on vacation. Since we tend to lay on the beach all day long, I can breeze through three or four books in a week with no problem (bliss!!) In no particular order, these are the books I'm looking forward to reading this summer -- and I'd love to hear, have you read any of them, and if yes, what did you think? Is there one that stands out among the rest? And most importantly -- is there a book that's a must read that isn't listed below?! Please, do tell! (Although, no need to suggest 50 Shades...guys, I tried to read that book, and I've come to the conclusion that I must be a prude...because the first 50 pages of that book disturb me. Am I the only one?!)

  1. You will LOVE 11/22/63. Definitely one of the best books I've read in a long while. Kite Runner is wonderful. Let's Pretend This Never Happened is next on my list! I just love her blog!

  2. Oh I love Jennifer Weiner books! Since you all are headed to the Isle of Palms you should check out the books by Dorothea Benton Frank she writes about the South Carolina Lowcountry. They are perfect Summer reads, easy and fluffy but fun. I see you are in Athens, I live in Augusta! We are going to Hilton Head this Summer.

  3. I have read most of Emily Giffin's book...I didn't like heart of the Matter much...but her books are easy reads. Ooohh I want to read the Kite Runner!
