Wintzell's Oyster House: Mobile, Alabama

Last Saturday we arrived in sunny, hot -- whoa mama, was it hot! -- Mobile, Alabama for Ashley and Chris's wedding weekend. We met up with some of our other friends at Wintzell's Oyster House downtown, and it was so tasty! The best part of the restaurant were the thousands of quirky handmade signs, and many date back to 1938 when the restaurant first opened. My favorite is the sign that reads, "She's the picture of her father, and the soundtrack of her mother." I think that sign actually sums me up quite well. Of course, James appreciated the vintage Baltimore Colts pennant, even though his beloved #18 has now moved on to Colorado -- (I think some Broncos gear will be making its way into the Kilgore house later this year.) Wintzell's is a neat little place, so if you're ever passing through, it's highly recommended you stop and grab some oysters -- fried, stewed or nude.
