Weekend: Washington D.C.

This past weekend, Shari and I visited our Lindsay at her new home in Washington D.C. We toured the beautiful neighborhood streets of Capitol Hill (where I might reside in my wildest -- and prettiest -- dreams), walked through aisles and aisles of fresh veggies, cheeses and handmade goods (friendship bracelets, anyone?), and ate the perfect French lunch at Montmartre Restaurant. After lunch, we played a little at the National Gallery of Art -- and walked through a Star Wars tunnel -- and outside we made friends with some very friendly city squirrels (!)

Saturday night we enjoyed fine red wine at The Dirty Martini and ate a magical dinner at Firefly near Dupont Circle....and then sang our hearts out at an underground karaoke bar. I was too busy leafing through the song list, belting out everything from Adele to Stevie Wonder, to take any photos...and having way too much fun than should ever be allowed.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend -- even despite the rainy, cold weather. And my only disappointment? Those cray cray engineers were MIA from the top of the Washington Monument this weekend! (Shoot)

Otherwise, the weekend lived up to everything I hoped it would be...full of good friends, wine and new big-city adventures.
