Guest Curator Post: Lesley of Homemade Grits

Lesley and I met over the phone on our first Southern Flourish conference call over two years ago, and I've been reading her blog, Homemade Grits -- full of healthy recipes, inspiring posts and ad-or-able photos of her little one, Matilda -- ever since. Lesley is also a talented seamstress and is one of my favorite people to follow on Instagram -- she is always taking super beautiful pics, and the ones of her daughter make my heart melt on a regular basis. Lesley is no doubt one inspiring mama, and today she's put together a list of must-haves for the perfect Halloween soiree.

Lesley: Natalie and her man are no-doubt ejoying a fantastic road trip right now. A fall adventure has me dreaming of one of my favorite autumnal events: Halloween! the last Halloween party I threw involved jelly shots. No judgement if you're still participating in gelatinous rituals, but right now I'm in more of a vintage, classic Halloween party kind of mood.
1. For the party center piece I love this idea spotted on style me pretty of using ombre-painted clothespins. my color picks: perfect shades of pumpkin, crimson and peach.
 2. I think a signature drink for a party like this one from tampopo press is a super classy way to go. Bourbon, cider and ginger ale...yes, please!
 3. These pumpkin whoopie pies from Martha Stewart would make just the right accompaniment.
 4. Love these pumpkin toppers for the pies from hey yo yo.
 5. These halloween cards from rifle paper co. would certainly make the answer to guests rsvps "yes!"
6. Skip the costumes and just hand out homemade masks at the door. I love this how-to from who other than Martha.

So I'd love to hear...what Halloween items are inspiring you this season?
