A few snapshots of the guest room:

As I mentioned the other day, I've been workin' on sprucing up our guest room for the many friends we'll be hosting this fall. James and I have been busy hanging pictures on the walls, finding the perfect photos to pin up inside my rock collection shadowbox and placing a few of our favorite books on the nightstand. My all-time favorite book just so happens to also have my all-time favorite art on its cover. Fun fact: did you know that F. Scott Fitzgerald was reportedly so enamored by Francis Cugat's artwork that he was inspired to incorporate it into his novel? The line referring to Daisy Buchanan as "the girl whose disembodied face floated along the dark cornices and blinding signs," is believed to have been inspired by Cugat's painting for The Great Gatsby book cover.

I have long been guilty of snagging a book off a bookstore shelf because I was first drawn to its cover. What about you guys? What's on your nightstand?
