Battery Park + Hominy Grill

Last week James and I explored Charleston's historic Battery Park, enjoying the light breeze off the water and the beautiful homes, hundreds of years old. As we walked around, I tried to picture what life was like back then. Imagine stepping on your front balcony in wartime to see several giant ships pulling into the harbor -- and maybe a pirate or two! It's really not too hard to visualize; the homes, parks, giant trees and walkways are almost exactly how they appeared two hundred years ago.

Next we ate brunch at Hominy Grill -- James's french toast was almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

Not pictured: my fried green tomato BLT. I seriously cannot resist fried green tomatoes if they are on the menu. They are my fave.
