A peek into our kitchen:

Our kitchen is bright, white, and best of all, functional. After living in a 1940s bungalow and a 1920s apartment building in Atlanta over the past five years, I want to wrap this kitchen in my arms and give it a big hug. I have counter space! A real pantry! More than four cabinets! At long last, I can actually cook a meal and not have to put half of my ingredients and pots and pans on the kitchen table.

Moving into a slightly bigger space also means that I can unwrap all of the fantastic wedding gifts we received last year that were still sitting in my parents' house. It was like Christmas morning all over again! The china sits in James's grandmother's china cabinet; I want to paint it white and line the back with wallpaper, like this. My "Martha Blue" stand mixer, the retro green clock, and the Pottery Barn hour glass salt and pepper shakers are all placed in their special spots in the kitchen to see and enjoy.

I'm still deciding where to hang pictures. Before, when I was renting, I would bang a hole in any wall five or six times without a second thought. I guess I should be a little more responsible with my hammer and nails. My fun "Jollification" print is leaning against the wall for now - I can't decide if it looks ok over there, centered over the end of the counter. What do y'all think?
Oh, and Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend, friends :)
