The Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes

  1. Buy my Mom and me tickets for the holiday Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes
My mom and I crossed another item off my Bucket List! We bought two tickets to the Virginia-Highlands Tour of Homes, and we had a great afternoon poking around in several pretty homes. Snow flurries filled the air, and we bundled up in our coats and trekked up the street to eat lunch at Highland Bakery before the tour. My mom ordered the french toast, and I had a breakfast BLT. Delicious.

The Tour of Homes began in the Highlands at the Church of Our Saviour, built in 1924. From there, we toured six homes; one condo, originally built in 1916, and several renovated bungalows. It was amazing to see before and after pictures of the homes, and the broad range of modern and contemporary interiors; so many good ideas, and so many neat pieces of furniture! We saw a lot of unique artwork on the tour, too. My favorite was a Woody Allen portrait that hung in the bar area of 870 Rosedale Road - so cool.
