Necker Island

Did anyone else see Richard Branson's Caribbean slice of heaven on Oprah last week?! My mouth was agape for the entire is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. Richard bought the island in 1978 for a mere $200,000, (a steal, right?) - but of course he had to install running water, landscape the island, and build his private home. Richard Branson's house and guest home are built with hardly any walls - everywhere you look you see a beautiful view worthy of a million dollar painting. And please take a look at this video, which is a short tour of the guest house bathroom, and the exit? Oh, just a sweet zip line trip directly down to the beach. (To see a clip of this, click here!)

Necker Island is spread over 74 acres and boasts "turquoise waters surrounded by coral reefs and fringed with beautiful white sandy beaches." Oprah said she booked the island many years ago for a 10 day getaway for her entire staff, (seriously...where can I sign up to work for Oprah?!) and she said she loved it so much she "gained 11 pounds" during the vacation- ha! The island is hired privately for up to 28 guests, and during special times throughout the year, couples or singles can book individual rooms. Also, please note that all of the tubs on Necker Island are outdoors. I likey. A lot.
