Cottage love

How warm and fuzzy and cozy is this cottage? I wish I knew where it's located...I found it on one of my favorite home decor and design blogs, La Belle Vie, and they didn't cite the city or town this house is from. It kind of reminds me of Kate Winslet's house from The Holiday - you just want to jump right in, wrap up in a quilt, make some hot cocoa and read a good book. While I'm at it, here are some photos for the inspiration files of The Holiday's English cottage:
After doing a little research I found out that the amazing cottage from The Holiday was built for the movie. Too bad. Also, I must be on a Nancy Meyers kick lately, because I just finished a post for tomorrow's edition on the set design of It's Complicated, another one of her movies. Enjoy enjoy!

  1. Hi Natalie,
That's so funny! Whenever I describe my dream house, if I could have it built myself I ALWAYS refer back to "the English cottage from The Holiday". This house is a fairy tale dream come true! I love your blog by the way. :)

  2. Hi there,
i feel exactly the same way. My Dream house is precisely the cottage in THE HOLIDAY. i cannot tell you how many times i watch the movie just to enjoy the house. AND I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND THIS WEBSITE. i just bought a 150 year old house with my partner. it does not look anything like a cottage, as where i live we don't have such beautiful roof tops. BUT i cannot wait to move into it, to turn all the rooms into such an inspiring and cosy environment just like the one in the movie. :))
